Aberfoyle Engagement Photo Session : Mike and Laura
I’ve always had a soft spot for Aberfoyle. For me, it’s the place of memories of school camps and since I met my husband it’s become a place we like to visit for a day out.
Mike and Laura wanted to go to Aberfoyle for their engagement session late last year. It’s reachable from Glasgow in under an hour, and the perfect wild escape from the towns and cities. We met up at a trail along Dukes Pass for this gorgeous engagement session. Being late autumn the colours were vibrant and it offered a real contrast to their wedding in Spring 2017. It was that last explosion of colour that I really love, and the beautiful late autumnal light that makes Aberfoyle such an incredible location for this romantic wilderness on our proverbial doorsteps. It was a rugged and wild backdrop for this intimate engagement session and gave us so much inspiration for their story.
Although pregnant at the time, I found the walk fairly comfortable to manage. During previous visits to Aberfoyle, I’ve visited the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. This time we drove on a little further and it was a chance for me to discover the stunning views across the valley. Of course, I need to pay some words to Mike’s beautiful green campervan, which they drive across Scotland and explore the countryside. It made a wonderful feature in their shoot, and also at their wedding as a photo booth!
